From one dahlia to ten, my dahlia family has grown quite quickly with this variety.
Growing, Growing, Gone!
Our first experience with River's Can't Elope came from a cutting. We received it when it was just a few inches tall and ready for something more. Planting as deep as we could to encourage more roots from nodes, we planted it in a grow bag and patiently awaited for more growth. It turned out to be easy to grow in our warm climate and easy to propagate from cuttings. With each new healthy, long stem I watched grow, I'd pinch and watch this dahlia sprout two more in its place just eager to give you something beautiful. It didn't take long for it to do so either as in just a few months I got my first bloom, mesmerized by its shimmering beauty. Dahlia's can take anywhere from 90-120 days to bloom after planting the tuber so I was very impressed by it's ability to quickly produce when starting from a cutting. Right before the bloom fully opened, I went ahead a cut it to enjoy its beauty indoors for days to come. Gone from the garden but welcomed into my home, this dahlia makes you want to grow, grow, grow!
