Dahlia Cuttings Important Shipping Information
We will send you an email when your cutting ships
This is a page that is sent out whenever a customer orders a rooted dahlia cutting. It is possible we forgot to update this page and some of the details are out of date. The gist of it should apply though even if some of the deets are outdated.
We try to not ship orders until the risk of freeze has passed the continental US by but before it's too hot. We aim to ship around April 15th, tax day. We figure, if it's good enough for Uncle Sam, it's good enough for us. We only offer cuttings for sale we have already rooted. These are not speculative cuttings. We do hold some cuttings back of each variety incase the mail man gives your cutting a hard time and you end up needing a replacement sent.
Important! Read these bullets:
- Your order is insured by the USPS. If the post office destroys your cutting order, reach out to your local post office, delivery person or the main USPS customer service number to make a claim. We are not responsible for the USPS smushing, losing, delivering to the wrong address, lighting on fire, putting in a shredder, or shooting into the sun. Typically all is good when we ship packages and we can provide documentation, but if your order is wayward or worse for the wear, you have to start with USPS, not us.
- You will get an email when your order ships, you will need to watch the tracking to take possession of your package of cuttings when it arrives. The rooted cuttings are dainty divas who want to die. You need to welcome them into your loving embrace the moment they darken your doorstep. Friend or foe? Only time will tell.
- Remember, plants die. We know you spend a lot of money on these babies with dreams of beautiful dahlia blooms in your eyes and our mindful of the investment you've made. We do our best to ensure your cutting is healthy, arrives alive and will thrive. Sometimes things go POOP EMOJI. Don't panic. We are here to help. We are non-certified plant therapists. We also try to follow the golden rule of treat others how you'd like to be treated. But also, we can't go bankrupt refunding willy-nilly so, it's a balance. We're reasonable people and want to be kind to our customers. If something goes wrong, just let us know.
Thanks for your order, it means a lot to us. We love sharing our dahlia cuttings with others. We personally find better success growing dahlias from cuttings than tubers, and while cuttings are pretty labor intensive to propagate, it's such a cool way to get more dahlias. And one can never have enough dahlias.
Love and growing good wishes!
